Girl’s Getaway
Lindale hosts not one but two wine festivals every year. You can plan your trip around the festivals in May or October or grab your friends and head out for a weekend. The Springhill Suites by Marriott is home to the iconic Miranda Lambert Suite. This unique room, decked out with Miranda themed décor and special touches sleeps up to 5, has 2 bathrooms and 2 separate living/lounging areas. The hotel is walking distance to The Cannery where you can enjoy a meal, hear live music and shop. TXM (Texas Music City Grill) is a lively Southern inspired restaurant with a full bar and separate area with a stage. Check their schedule for a full list of upcoming events, including karaoke night for a fun girl’s night out. The building shares space with The Pink Pistol, a one-of-a-kind boutique shopping experience housing Miranda’s clothing and houseware brands. You will find an old-fashioned soda fountain, fun photo-ops, signature T-shirts, and gift items for everyone on your list. Take a break at Red 55 Winery, named in honor of Miranda’s first truck, a candy apple red 55’ step-side. The winery offers tastings and full bottles for purchase. Your wine will pair perfectly with handmade artisan chocolate at Lindale Candy Co. Make your way to French Tulips, a locally owned boutique with apparel, accessories, home goods, and gifts. Across the street you can treasure hunt at Main Street Market and Antiques and pick up a new book to relax with at Bound Books. Board and Brush offer a multitude of crafty activities that are perfect for a group of friends to make memories together.

Fieldtrip
Start your day off at Old Mill Pond Museum on a Friday. Plan to arrive between 10 & 10:30. Tour the barn housing antique farm equipment and check out the General Store. Visit the chapel. Make your way into the museum and step back in time. You can observe an active water wheel and mill, displays that house hundreds of artifacts from 1850-1950 including musical instruments, a model train set-up, Model T Ford and so much more! Head out back and feed the fish and turtles before you relax at the picnic tables for lunch. Don’t forget to look for the train whistle. After you refuel, head over to Lindale Candy Co. for a candy making demonstration. Your group can observe the process from the viewing windows where a Candy Co. employee will explain the process as they make candy the same way they did since 1946. After the demo, your group will be invited inside to receive a fresh piece of candy, still warm. Then proceed into their retail shop where you can purchase everything sweet from traditional hard candy to artisan made chocolates. Burn off that sugar rush at Darden Harvest Park. This beautiful location has a playground, splashpad, covered pavilion, walking trail and more. The mentioned locations can accommodate large groups but calling in advance to reserve your time is necessary.
